The brief
Edit pricing-rules.json with hitPolicy and rules. Each rule has unique id, when and then objects. Inputs: quantity is an integer 1..500; customer is standard or partner; service is normal or rush. when may omit any input (wildcard); integer conditions are inclusive [low, high] and category conditions are nonempty value arrays, combined by AND. then must contain discount (integer percent), review (boolean) and charge (integer cents). Allowed discounts: 0,3,5,8,10,12; charges: 0,500,1500. Standard discount is 0 for quantities 1..99, 5 for 100..499 and 10 at 500. Partner discount is 3 for 1..99, 8 for 100..499 and 12 at 500. Review is required for every rush order, every standard order at quantity 400 or more, and every partner order at 450 or more; otherwise false. Normal handling charge is 0. Rush charge is 500 for partner orders of at least 100 units, and 1500 for all other rush orders. Evaluate all 2000 input combinations. unique requires exactly one matching row per input; first uses the first matching row, so overlapping conditions are valid when priority is deliberate. Every input needs a result, all outputs must match policy, and every row must be able to contribute under the chosen hit policy. No unreachable catchall or redundant shadowed row is allowed. Use 1..24 rows and only the supplied fields/domains. The evaluation supports up to 8192 boundary-partition cells. Rule IDs carry no business meaning.
What the checks verify
Your work is graded on 8 independent properties, not on matching one reference answer.
- Explicit hit policy and distinct bounded rule records.
- Conditions and complete typed outcomes use only supplied fields and domains.
- Every supplied order has a matching rule.
- The chosen policy resolves every match without unintended unique overlap.
- Each row can contribute under the selected hit policy.
- Every order receives the stated customer/quantity discount.
- Rush and customer-specific high-quantity orders require review.
- Normal and rush handling charges follow customer and quantity policy.
